For our crisis line
Volunteers staff our 24-hour crisis line from the safety and comfort of their own homes. Requires completion of one 36-hour training which is offered three times in a calender year.Call us at 225-7376 x226 to find out more.
As a shelter advocate: Volunteers who have already taken the 36-hour training can take an additional training to be on call to admit guests (women and their children) to the shelter on nights and weekends when staff are not present. Call us at 225-7376 x226 to find out more.
As a hospital advocate: Volunteers who have already taken the 36-hour training can take an additional training to be on call day or night to accompany sexual assault victims/survivors to the hospital when they can receive medical treatment and evidence can be collect. Childcare for when Moms are in support groups; transportation for our shelter guests to places the bus routes don't service, such as the DHHS/DCYF District Office in Concord; cooking instruction to women living in the shelter; craft instruction to women living in the shelter; general cleaning of the shelter. As a court advocate: Volunteers who have completed the 36-hour training can take an additional training to be on call for the local courts assisting people with protective orders and stalking petitions. The courts are open from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
