RDVCC

From The Outside                                                    front door>>

From the street, most shelters are unrecognizable.  A shelter can be anywhere and blend in.  Although this is not a picture of the RDVCC, it could be.

What does a shelter look like? A Home.

Do the women sleep in a big room on cots?

The RDVCC was specifically designed and built to support women and children and reflects the needs of our guests.  It is quite the opposite of what first comes to mind when the word “shelter” is used.  Women and children are assigned to a private bedroom that has enough real beds to accommodate the family.  The RDVCC has common baths as well as common cooking, eating, and recreation areas.  The RDVCC has a nice indoor playroom for children and two televisions with cable for relaxation.
